About the Artist

Emma founded Çeems Jewelry in 2024, after nearly eight years working in the New York art world and making jewelry as a pastime. With degrees in Art History and Museum Studies, Emma hopes each piece tells a story that honors the past and elevates the present. In the trend-heavy and fast fashion world we live in, she wants to slow down and make heirlooms that will stand the test of time, always using recycled materials and sustainable practices. Every piece is handcrafted from start to finish in Emma’s studio.

About the Name

A play on the initials of the women who have most inspired Emma’s life and artistic practice, Çeems pays homage to her mother and maternal and paternal grandmothers. From her maternal grandmother, a seamstress with a keen eye for fashion, she learned about the beauty and power of objects. From her paternal grandmother, a schoolteacher with a heart of gold, she learned to marvel at life’s everyday gifts - a bird in its nest, a tomato sprouting on the vine. From her mother, a gifted writer with an infectious zest for travel and adventure, she learned the power of following a passion and the importance of seeing the world, and just about everything else.
